In a cocked up situation like this in a sport where teamwork is crucial, it is essential to hold out your emotion and not to voice your displeasure and point fingers at a particular team member in media.
This is all about maintaining the 'togetherness' infront of the public. Can you imagine if the manager or any of the members spoke to some media and point fingers, that would cultivate a negative effect on the team and that negative effect would spread like fire and that would do more harm than good to the confidence of the team. Hence I believe in such a competitive sport, every single member of the team had been briefed and told how to behave in circumstances like this.
However behind close doors, it's another situation and I believe there should be a bit of bollockings because this could complicate their chance of closing the gap and might even be the key to the championship run in. Hence an investigation should be conducted to find out why and how it went wrong so that it can be prevented in the future. The cocked up team member's appointment should also be suspended temporarily pending the finding of the investigation and if need be, removed for good if something smells fishy along the line of investigating. I mean anything is possible right? Even a Kelong. The investigators must not rule out any possibilities.
